I&#039;m not sure that is the crossing  - it might have been where the crossing was but I think it had been removed by October 1972. 

What makes me think that it was gone by the time I took that photo is that the signals that do appear in the photo aren&#039;t there to control that crossing. When you look back the other way the only signals you can see are there to control the entrance/exit from the exchange sidings.

And yes, I do have a photo of one of the Kitson&#039;s for the last post in the series. I would have made it by now but work (and cricket) have got in the way.

  It dosen&#039;t take a rocket scientist to work out that I have a thing for older (newer for that matter) Hunter coal trains and these shots really fit the bill.
  While at Hexham you didn&#039;t manage to get some RVR type stuff did you? I notive the right angle crossing is visible in at least one of the shots.
